The member of parliament Ten Hoopen (Christian Democratics) moved a motion to forbid squatting. According to the member of parliament the squat houses are hotbeds for (foreign) criminals, drugsdealers and illegal parties. To show that this is completely wrong, a lot of Dutch squat houses opened their doors to show the people and politicians what is really going on in the squat houses. As long as there is a housing shortage there will be squatting.
